Biography
King Rahlken is the most notorious of all pirates in the galaxy. He is known for stealing anything, even the floor things are bolted to. For eight thousand years his people have been active pirates following the collapse of their home star. Rahlken is the latest and one of the most successful. His achievements are matched by very few. Capable of challenging even the elder civilizations and escaping victorious. Famously he has intentionally stolen from all three of the elder civilizations just to prove he could.
His people were once rescued by the exerlus when their star reached the end of its lifespan. The exerlus created a ship to rip their cities out of the planet as quickly as possible so they could evacuate from the system. This is one of the actions of the exerlus that are heavily criticized and has contributed to them desiring to avoid interfereing with galactic affairs as much as possible. Over time the lost civilization wandered the galaxy trying to colonize what they could. Due to the rapid regeneration and evolutionary speed of their race, they quickly split apart and they share common ancestors with species completely unrecognizable from themselves. Over time, the ship fell under the control of what would become the Rahlken family line who would become more violent and turn to piracy to meet their needs.
Rahlken himself is quite lighthearted, fully aware of how difficult it is to kill him. He travels the galaxy looking for more loot and his 'crew' is really more of a civilization of its own living on a massive flotilla. His unique ability to evolve in response to mortal peril has made him one of the most difficult things in the galaxy to kill. Every time a new super race or civilization tries to get the upper hand, he takes on their properties and steals their technology. It is a galactic concept that Rahlken will never be overpowered, no amount of magic, technology, numbers, or racial advantages will work against him. He must be outwitted and outplayed, unfortunately he knows about this weakness and has allied with the super intelligence of Selona.
