Biography
Having ruled over the demon kingdom for nine thousand years, the Demon King is one of the most well known and stable rulers in the entire Sol expanse. It is a tradition that whoever becomes the ruler of the demon kingdom will never be addressed by their name again, mostly to keep those pesky wizards at bay. Having ruled as long as he has, almost no one even knows their true name anymore. Though he knows the true names of every demon lord, since he must speak it for them to become demon lords in the first place.
By pandem rules, the Demon King is almost a deity. As many demons draw their power from him and have done so for so long that it became innate to their species to be born already bound to him. This has gone on for so long that it is thought of as innate to their race, though really demons would not be so dramatically different from normal humanoids were not for this bind. All demons and their variant racial abilities actually stem from their bind to the king. The only thing that prevents him from gaining the deity classification is that he does not control his plane.
His personality is subject to erratic behavior, often he is seen as a quiet and stern figure. Ruling over the council of lords carefully and concealing any sign of emotion. Though stories over the years depict him to have wildly varying moods. It is considered that any other elements of his personality are expressed in different bodily forms, since he possesses true shapeshifting he can be anyone at any time. If he isn't on his throne, he could be anywhere else doing anything else. Stories range from him being a villainous sorcerer in the mortal world to a very raunchy prostitute in the seedier side of town. From manipulating politics to partying at a concert. It's impossible to confirm since unlike most shapeshifters, his is uniquely undetectable by any means. Even the jesai cannot see through his ability to shapeshift or possess other individuals, so he says. No one is sure if or when he tested that statement but he seems confident in it. On the throne he is a very serious leader, but in the bodies of others he can be almost anything.
Many stories paint a picture of the demon king being simultaneously one of if not the greatest trickster known to Sol, simultaneously he wields unimaginable power both physically and politically. However, he is rarely seen. Only appearing during meetings with the other demon lords and only demon lords can request an audience, requiring the middle planes to meet with a demon lord to get a chance to convey any message to the king. This makes people nervous given that if they don't know where he is, then he could be anywhere or anyone.
