Currency
This section is dedicated to the currency of the galaxy. There is more then one form of currency and when getting paid or spending money it could be important what type you have on you. For example, Alnae officials generally refuse to accept shaji as payment. The galactic standard(gs) is considered the "true value" of something for trade with rare metals. Gs is based around anilium, a semi rare metal. For this purpose the currencies below are compared to the galactic standard (their value to match 1 pound of anilium).
Anilium: Anilium metal is the base for the galactic standard, anilium is the chosen hard-value material because of its impossibility to replicate via magic or alchemy. The metal is particularly dense, and while strong it isn't as strong as synthetic metals used in construction. It's one notable feature is that it cannot be magically replicated, as such it is used for currency measurement. Ironically poorer or more primitive communities may use it in construction if they do not have access to higher grade metals or just need it for a simple purpose.
Credit: A standardized currency popularized by intersystem banking firms. It exists in digital form, linked constantly between an account with a bank and the accounts owner. There is no physical form of this currency, it originated when a corporation started offering banking credits in exchange for various goods or services. The credits were exchangeable for other forms of currency and as such was very popular for business deals, later becoming a standardized currency itself. Credit is worth 50:1 to the galactic standard.
Kitet: A currency from the Balthun system, created by a very practical species. Every Kitet has a physical copy in a bank of one sort or another, various gems and metals (including unconventional metals used in construction rather then trade). Instead of expanding how many kitet fit to the resources they just made it more complicated, which seemed fine to them. It is represented as followed: #.#.#, the first number is worth 1:10 the galactic standard. The second is worth 1:1, and the last is 10:1. Exchanges are made with notes varying in all the numbers as according to what the code of the corresponding resource is. For example, 0.1.10 would be worth 2 galactic standard anilium. 1.0.0 would be worth 10 galactic standard anilium. Due to the complex nature of the system it is not very popular, but when absolute certainty is required the Kitet currency is very reliable as the Kitet banks allow resource withdrawal (making the currency even more rare at times when construction materials are withdrawn.) It is almost always accepted by business savvy figures who understand the values of kitet currency properly, but those who do not understand it refuse to accept it for fear they are being ripped off.
Shaji: The standard currency of the Shetou Empire and the many houses that thrive within in. Due to the nature of the drow leaders of Shetou's deceptions it is commonly agreed that each shaji note has to be worth something directly exchangeable and consistent to avoid underhanded tactics in dealing with money, shaji notes are based off of gold Shaji is comparitively worth 20:1 to the galactic standard.
Telu: The standard currency of Alnae, created after a decade of economic overhaul during the space era. Telu is backed by elven banking as well as elven word which has allowed the value of it to be stretched somewhat to work in finer increments. Telu is worth 35:1 the galactic standard.
